Phu Dong Early Childhood Development Center

The VNCOC’s “Phu Dong” Early Childhood Development Center, with its bi-lingual, bi-cultural staff, including health professionals and educators, provides services, support and training not being offered by other childcare providers. The center’s philosophy and curriculum is based on NAEYC’s accreditation standards and developmentally appropriate practices.

The VNCOC’s “Phu Dong” Early Childhood Development Center realizes the importance of the early years of development and the necessity for quality care. Goals include primary caregiving, small groups, responsiveness to the individual needs of young children and a strong relationship with parents.

The five areas of learning that have been taught at the VNCOC’s “Phu Dong” Early Childhood Development Center are:

1. Cognitive Skills: Thinking abilities, including decision making, judgment, analysis, and readiness.
2. Language Development: Expressive and receptive language abilities in both English and Vietnamese.
3. Physical Development: Large and fine motor skills.
4. Aesthetic Development: Appreciation of art, music and natur
5. Social/Emotional Development: Self-worth and self-esteem.
